NyoniWe are family

Nyoni is practical funeral support for families in Limpopo.

When a death is verified, Nyoni delivers one cow, 100kg of maize meal, a full load of firewood and a bakkie for the day. You pay from R100 a month.

We are family.

What your family receives.

Every membership option includes the same four things, delivered within two days of verification. No option gets more, and nothing here is decided later.

  • Nyoni's cattle gathered in a wooden kraal

    One cow

    1 × cow

  • A bag of maize meal

    Maize meal

    2 × 50kg bags

  • A large pile of firewood under bushveld trees

    Firewood

    1 × full load

  • Bakkie service

1 × day. You choose the day.

Add-ons, if you want more.

Not part of the basic price. Each add-on is R70 a month, and you can take either one or both.

On the Go

R70 a month

  • A sliced white loaf of bread

20 loaves of bread per day

Food Support

The cattle are Nyoni’s own, photographed in Limpopo. The other photographs show the kind of goods delivered, not a delivery to a family.

Counted in months paid, not months on the calendar. A missed month pauses the count. It does not reset it.

The waiting period protects the members who are already paying.

Without it, someone could join in the week they need to claim. A support fund that allows this cannot pay the families who have been contributing for years. It runs out.

It applies to every member equally, including the people who started Nyoni. We would rather tell you this on the first page than in the fine print.

Real people, in a real town.

Nyoni is run by Austin Pona, manager, from Phalaborwa in Limpopo. When you call the number on this page, that is who answers.

We serve Limpopo. All of it. We do not claim to cover the country, because we do not.

What that registration does and does not mean. It means the company legally exists and can be looked up. It does not mean anyone has approved, guaranteed or insured what Nyoni provides. We would rather tell you that now than let you assume otherwise, and we are working on the next step openly.

Know where you stand.

The conditions that decide whether support can be provided. Read them before you join.

  • Three months without payment and the membership lapses. Pay again and the membership is active again.

  • A missed month pauses your count. It does not reset it. Your progress is never lost.

  • Nyoni is not a lender. If you stop paying, you owe Nyoni nothing. Your months must simply be paid up to claim.

  • Claims are subject to Department of Home Affairs verification.

  • Qualifying benefits are provided within two days after verification.

  • If one person is registered by more than one family member, only one cow is issued and each affected membership receives R1 500.

Final eligibility remains subject to Nyoni’s complete membership terms and verification process.

Ask on WhatsApp
What is the waiting period?

The waiting period is 6 months. Monthly payments must be maintained before a qualifying claim can be considered.

Who can be included?

Nyoni offers options for 2, 3, 4, 5 or 8 members. Contact Nyoni for guidance on who qualifies.

What happens if I miss payments?

A missed month pauses your six-month count — it does not reset it, and your progress is never lost. Three months without payment and the membership lapses, but pay again and it is active again. Nyoni is not a lender: if you stop paying, you owe Nyoni nothing.

How do I submit a claim?

Contact Nyoni for the current claim process. Claims are subject to Department of Home Affairs verification.

When are benefits delivered?

Qualifying benefits are provided within two days after verification.

Why is there a six-month waiting period?

It protects members who are already paying. Without it, someone could join in the week they need to claim, and the fund could not support families who have contributed for years. It applies to everyone equally.

Are add-ons included in the basic price?

No. On the Go and Food Support are separate options at R70 per month each.
